A New Favorite

Hello! How was everyone's weekend? I just got back from Martha's Vineyard last night and am definitely loving all things beachy and coastal right now. A perfect time to share with you this awesome blog... just in case you are like me and have been living on another planet and didn't know about the wonderful world of A Beach Cottage.Where have I been? Hiding under a rock? Am I the only one that didn't know about this blog? I stumbled across it last Thursday while I was looking through all the DIY projects over at A Soft Place to Land's DIY Day (thanks, Kimba!). And then I got sucked in and spent the next like 3 hours reading about this lovely little sea-side cottage in Australia and its amazing transformation.

Sarah and her family moved to Australia from England in December of 2007 and since then she has been converting her old fixer-upper into a beautiful, light and bright, fresh new home. Sarah is all about finding vintage or neglected furniture/odds and ends and refurbing them with love and her trusty custom-mixed white paint. I love her sense of styling, her use of natural textures and materials, the gorgeous layers and depth that she creates with soft and subtle color, the way her rooms feel clean and uncluttered but still cozy and lived-in.

Another great thing about this blog is that Sarah is all about sharing the love. Click here for her really helpful post about how to achieve the same "coastal chic" vibe in your room. And here for A Beach Cottage's virtual inspiration board - pages and pages of inspiring photos of all things white, beachy or just pretty that Sarah has posted for all of us to enjoy! What a great resource!!

Here's just a quick sampling of the perfection that is A Beach Cottage.....sigh.....
