My First Giveaway!

Hello! Hope everyone had a great weekend. Guess what? I'm having my first giveaway! Yay! Hope I do it right, I really have no clue what I'm doing:) But, I did want to say thanks to all of you for being so swell.

I'd love to give away 2 of these 8 x 10 framed leaf prints that I made for our guest room. See them there on the left?

I DIYed these using clip art, printed them out on chartreuse paper and framed them in these dark walnut frames with white mats. I leave mine up all year round, but these would make great seasonal wall art for fall.

However, this prize is going to be totally customizable to suit your tastes and your space! You get to choose:

1. which of the 2 prints you like best

2. your frame color (black, brown or white)
3. your paper and ink colors

We'll work together to achieve exactly the look you want. Then I'll print and frame them for you and send them on their merry way to hang out at your place:)

To enter, just leave me a comment here. I'd like to get to know you guys better, so tell me something about yourself. I'll leave the giveaway open through this Friday. Let me know if I missed anything or if you have any questions. Feel free to spread the word:) Thanks again!

PS. The Nester (Nesting Place) is having her Give Away Day today!! Head on over there for a chance to win lots of amazing things (one item an hour for the next 24 hours)!!!

  1. I like the last two and adore the last one! Black frame-not sure about paper color...
One interesting thing about me is, I have Irish Twins! (mine are 13 months apart, Irish Twins are technically 12 months and under).

  2. I love these! I wish I was craftier and could actually think of stuff like this myself. One interesting thing....I skipped 2nd grade!

  3. Sarah, I can't believe you are doing a giveaway! How fun! I'd love to receive the fruits of your craftiness any day! My thing: I am hosting Thanksgiving for the first time this year, and I am excited.

  4. These are awesome! We just built a new house a few months ago and have plenty of bare walls to hang these on. I think I like the 1st and 3rd ones best. My home is a mix between pottery barn wannabe and caostal since we live at the Jersey Shore. One interesting thing about me is that at 26 years of age, I still can not blow a bubble with chewing gum!

  6. I love them as they are, I love that pretty green! I don't like meat. I will eat hamburger, depending on where, I won't eat steak. If I do eat some kinf of meat, it has to be charred, lol.

  7. Those are so pretty, they look like something you could buy at art.com! Hm....something interesting about me. My husband and I are having our first child (a boy!) due Dec 22nd, so he could very well be born on Christmas. Best present ever.

Grits - Wow! They must keep you busy:)

Kari - No way! You skipped 2nd grade cause you were too smart? Cool!

Hi, Silvia!! Great to see you around here! I love hosting Thanksgiving. Paul and I did it for the first time 2 years ago, its fun but a lot of work. You'll do great!!

Simply Living at the Shore - congrats on your new place! Your style sounds kinda like mine. Don't worry, I can't whistle;)

  12. Hey, live the life! Good to have you! I love lowercase letters too. We didn't use capitals at all on our wedding invitations and I figured my grandparents would freak out when they got them in the mail:)

Nicole - its ok, you are still welcome here;) I do eat meat, but I'm not one of those people that gets excited about a good steak. I could care less, pasta is my thing when we go out!

Hi, Margaret! Congrats on your first little one! (I'm so jealous!) Wow, wouldn't a Christmas baby be insanse?! Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy:)

  13. You are too sweet to give these away! =)
I love the brown frames and green paper- just as you have them in your home!
As for something about me... I am obsessed with the color pink, but I'm not really that girly. I just bought a pink softball glove and it ROCKS. I think my obsession is more of a territorial thing- I know my husband won't use my pink things- tools, dustpan, sporting equipment... =)

  14. Hurray! Your first giveaway! And an awesome and generous one too! Please count me in...1 step further to having my home look like one of my favorite inspirations! ;)

Me? I am sitting here thinking about a patent on a snuggie with a heater/usb plug. I'm freezing! I think I need to hibernate or fly south for the winter. I hate cold and should be enjoying this balmy 58 degrees today...because it's just going to get worse. Trying to look at the bright side of things. You probably have the same or colder. 58 is above freezing! Right?

Have a great week! Thanks for the heads up on the other giveaways and for hosting such a great giveaway yourself!

  15. Congrats on your first giveaway... I LOVE your blog!
A little about me... Well I love decorating and spending time in our home. Fall is my favorite time of year (Birthday and Anniversary), I can't wait until June 2010 when we will start trying to add to our happy family of 4 (Me, DH, and two pups)...

  16. Thanks for having such a fantastic giveaway!!! A tiny tidbit about me- I'm terrified of decorating. I can't seem to make any type of commitment.

    ReplyDelete
  17. I'm "entering"! I really like the crisp, fresh look (and will probably choose a black frame when I win :) Thanks for this terrific giveaway!

Autumn is my favorite time of the year until Spring comes...then I get anxious for a few lake days of Summer...before I get antsy for cooler weather and Autumn again...

  18. Oh my -- those are beautiful! Here's my tidbit -- a couple years ago, my oldest child was starting medical school and my youngest was starting kindergarten!

  19. These are beautiful and are exactly what I have been looking for to hang in our guest room! I actually said "I wish I had leaf prints for this wall" not 12 hours ago! I love your style and blog and enjoy keeping up with your creative projects and finds.

  20. fieryirishangel - Awesome!! I'm Irish too. My co-worker used to do Irish step dancing and one day I made her teach me a few moves! It was hard, but fun. I wish I could have really learned growing up, seems like such a cool thing to be able to do.

Congrats, afinehouse!!! 20 years with your high school sweetheart?! That is so romantic! What an inspiration you are:)

Lol, Leslie! I'm not that girly either, but I always notice myself buying a lot of pink clothes. Hey, if it takes pink to get your H to leave your stuff alone, more power to ya:)

  21. I know your bio from The Nest and have always liked these prints...I especially love the last one. Good luck to everyone entering the giveaway :)

A few quirky thinks about me: I LOVE doing laundry, it's exciting for me. Is that sick?! LOL I enoy the whole process...the sorting, the anticipation of the cycles ending then the dryer buzzer going off, and the folding, etc. It's therapy for me. I'm also addicted to coupons. I love sitting w/ the Sunday paper and clipping coupons. And I refuse to shop online w/o a coupon of some kind. It feels good to save $!

  22. These are pretty & awesome! What a great giveaway! I adore them all - but my two favorites are the first one and the last one.

Something about me? I've been pretty much lying awake at night trying to pick out the perfect yellow for my kitchen. My husband and I just can't decide!

    ReplyDelete
  23. Get out! I am so excited about this! I remember seeing these when you posted about your makeover and loving them.

Something about me: I relax every night by washing dishes (its like a lazy version of a bubble bath) and I think I going to dye my hair this weekend even though I swore I'd go gray gracefully.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Those are so pretty - please enter me!!

Hmmm, something about me: My H & I are currently TTC our first baby & I just can't freakin' wait to be a mommy!! We have been together 7 years in Dec. & married for a little over 6 months & are so ready for a little one!

  27. The prints are great and I'm sure they'll look as great in one of your reader's homes as they do in yours.

Fun fact about me? I'd like to bring reader Charlene to my house because I hate laundry! So much so that I have 3 piles of it staring at me now begging for my attention :)

    ReplyDelete
  32. I love these! Thanks so much for offering a giveaway. Fact about me: We don't have children yet so our dog is our baby. She's even attended an outdoor wedding with us (and, yes, she was invited).

    ReplyDelete
  33. These are so pretty! I have a thing for paper and tend to decorate with and hang a lot of paper in our home. The best part is that most of the time it's a fairly cheap way to decorate and can be changed out whenever I want. Something about me...I love to run but don't want to ever particpate in a marathon - I fear that would take the fun out of it.

    ReplyDelete
  34. What a great giveaway! I just did one that was custom made for the winner...so neat. Anyway, I love the two prints on the right. I would want a white frame, light blu paper and whatever ink you think would look best. These prints would be so great to own and I hope I win!

  35. This post made me squeel! I have always loved those prints that you made- ever since I saw them in your bio. They would go absolutely perfect in my guest bedroom the way they are now, leaves, brown frames with the green paper. I just love them!
Something about me: I am a huge dog lover and advocate for animals. My husband and I are in the works for starting to foster dogs until they find their forever homes.

  42. Thanks for the giveaway!! I like the top two the best, and I think I like the colors you used, but with a black frame! Hmm, well I'm in nursing school right now, so it is hard for me to have time to read my favorite blogs (including yours!), but that is definitely my way of de-stressing! Oh and I just found out I got a 98.5 on an exam so I am one happy girl right now!! :D

  44. Beautiful DIY artwork. They would love lovely in our Master bedroom.
    Hmmm something about myself....
I like to sew even though I'm lucky if I can make a straight line. I'm always looking for short-cuts with sewing projects. I buy all the stuff to make several things then I never get them done. :)

  49. Love these and was one of the ideas I was going to borrow from you! An interesting thing about me: I'm afraid of heights, but not enough to stop me from adventure. My stubborness and fear of missing out trumps it I guess.
