Team Blue!

Hi there! Happy late New Year!

Totally didn't mean to be gone for blogging for almost a month there, sorry! We hit 2013 super sick...didn't even make it up until midnight on NYE and then spent New Year's Day in the minute clinic at CVS, so we are kinda behind on getting back into the normal swing of things.

Thank you so much for all your wonderful comments and well wishes about baby #2!! You guys are the best! We had our big ultrasound right after Christmas and found out its a boy:) Handsome little guy, isn't he?!

So excited!!! And he looked all healthy, which was the most important thing.

We have a lot to do around this place to get it ready for a second little one. Our plan is to move Maura down the hall to a "big girl room" (still not sure though if we're going to transition her right away to a twin bed or keep her in her crib for as long as possible since she is completely comfortable there..advice?) and then convert her nursery over to be ready for a boy. First things first, we need to get all the crap out of the other room that will be her new one so we can start setting things up in there. I should probably take down the Christmas stuff first though, huh?!

Have a great weekend, everyone!

  2. Congrats! Glad to hear you all are on the mend. We were down & out over Christmas...talk about laying low for the holidays. ;) From a financial standpoint it makes more sense not to have to purchase a second crib since they are so short lived in the big scheme of things. However I still have a nearly 3 year old that doesn't even stand in her crib till I walk in the room to get her...I'm not changing that until I absolutely have to.

  4. So exciting! Congrats Sarah! As far as the crib vs. bed I think it all depends on when you move her into her new room. Maybe get her settled in there in the crib and then introduce the bed before the baby comes. Enjoy this time and have fun getting those rooms together!

  5. I had a feeling you would have a boy! You will rock being a mom of two kids.
I think Maura is definitely old enough to handle a twin bed. Cameron was done with his crib at 20 months, when he climbed out. It was good timing, though- we would have had to transition him out anyway to make room for baby sister. He did great, no issues whatsoever.
Anyway, I think it's something she could get excited about- maybe let her pick out a special new pillow for her big girl bed, or (if you're brave, pick out her own sheets :) I have been definitely been thinking about getting Kylie into a twin bed lately. We will probably do it this summer!

  6. YAY!!!! I'm so happy for you guys and have been thinking about you and wondering how you're doing (and what you were having!!). Sheila keeps saying she wants a brother so we'll see. Good luck with all the moving and cleaning out - if we stay in this house then we'll be doing the same. Congrats Sarah and glad you and baby are healthy and doing well.

  8. Congrats, Sarah!! So, so happy for you! I hope you are feeling well now. I had a girl first and then my boy as well. They are 22 mos. apart and I remember the day we moved Neve into her big girl room and bed so clearly. Probably because I was 7 1/2 mos preggers and moving three rooms of furniture, lol. You will know what's best for Maura. We moved Neve right away into a bed so we didn't have to buy another crib, but mother knows best.Good luck! Can't wait to see what you do. I've been under a rock, away from Blogland and up to my eyeballs in school work. I've got a break for a month and look forward to catching up on all my favorite blogs.

    Take care!
