Guess Where I'm Going?

This weekend? The Brimfield Antique Show!!! I'm so excited...its the largest outdoor antique show in the world. The Brimfield show is held in a small town in MA three times a year (since 1959) with thousands of dealers attending.

Ok, I'm going to admit...I've never done anything like this before. I'm not good at bargaining, I don't actually know anything about antiques...to be truthful, until the last couple of years (when I really got into exploring home decor/interior design more on line and had my own home to experiment with) I was not really into antiques/other people's old stuff. But I think I've come to see the light, mostly through DIYers and savy shoppers and creative people with vision like you guys. So thanks!

Has anyone been to Brimfield? A show like it? Any tips? I think I'll be looking for mostly small accessory type things...but you never know! Mostly I think just the experience will be fun. And of course I'll try to take good pics and come back with a full report:)

PS. How convenient...was just over at "elements of style" and Erin's guest blogger, Marni of "style carrot", is headed to Brimfield today and posted a list of her top 10 favorite vendors (with help from Jill Goldberg of the chic store Hudson in Boston - how have I not been there?) Thanks, Erin, Marni and Jill!

  1. OHHHHH sounds like a lot of fun and a potential for finding some real treasures. You should truly make yourself a list of what kind of accessories your looking for, take color samples (if you have them) that way you will know if something will work if its not something you can easily makeover. Have fun, I think I am a little jealous ;)

Daily laying it at the Master's feet!

  6. Okay....I am super jealous!!! For 4 years after college I lived in MA and one year ventured to Brimfield by myself. What a fun day I had!!! I only bought one thing though; a journal which I still use to this day to keep note of gifts we recieve so I don't forget to write TY notes. I am not sure how I stumbled upon your blog a few months ago, but I so enjoy reading it and living the New England life again vicariously through you.
Can't wait to see what fun finds you come home with!!
