Three Little Birds
"Woke up this morning, smiled at the rising sun...three little birds on my doorstep...singing a sweet song..."
Maura loves this song. Coincidentally, when she was born, my good friend Jen sent her these three adorable hand made ceramic birds from a studio near where she lives in Brooklyn.
They each came strung on a little white cord for hanging. We've never had a mobile in the nursery, and this corner was looking a little empty, so I hung them from the ceiling here over her crib (but not within reach).
The white cords weren't long enough to reach the high ceilings, so I snipped them off at the ends and instead added some skinny colorful ribbon I had lying around.
Maura loves when I gently tap all three of them and send them flying back and forth:) Thanks, Jen (nothing like a friend who knows that nursery decor is what I really wanted when I had a baby)!!
Ps. For more about Maura's nursery, click here (antique botanical prints and dresser/changing table), here (Ikea ledge shelves), here (window treatments and glider), and here (crib and alphabet flash cards).

They are adorable - a sweet little addition to a little girls room. I still need to add a few things to my daughter's room - this gives me some motivation :)
ReplyDeleteSo sweet for such a little sweetie! Thanks for being so gracious today when accosted in the grocery store lol! Hope we run in to each other again.
ReplyDeleteYay, Denise!!! It was so great to meet you today, thank you so much for coming up and saying hi - Anonymous no longer:) Now I can keep my eye out around town for you!! Have a great week.
ReplyDeleteThese are really cute! I made a little bird mobile for K's room when we finally move. I've been meaning to ask how you like Maura's Ikea dresser/changing table? How is the quality- and do you see it lasting awhile? I'm interested in having my husband pick up a 3-drawer one Hemnes next time he's around an Ikea.
ReplyDeleteThat is such a cute little idea...so pretty!
