Mood Board Monday
I am loving Mood Board Monday! Today is the second Mood Board Monday McLinky Party...hosted this time by Tracy at Comfort and Luxury. Pk over at Room Remix started this awesome new blog event a while back and I have had such a good time participating.
Tracy's challenge was for us to pick one of these 2 chairs from Anthropologie (that's the Antwerp on the left and the Bertram on the right) and design a room around it. Fun, huh?!
I went with the Antwerp chair, because I loved the pattern and unexpected combo of bright colors. It's slightly out of my comfort zone, but that's what makes for a good challenge. I choose to use this chair in a bedroom.... a girl's gotta have a place to sit and read, to put her shoes on, to throw her clothes when she gets home late. I wanted this room to be sophisticated and elegant, but with fun pattern and lots of color.
1. the color palette, with a lovely shade of teal/turquoise for the walls
2. Jameson Upholstered Bed from Restoration Hardware in Sand Belgian Linen
3. Audrey Organic Duvet Cover and Shams from Pottery Barn
4. Kendra Pillows in Violet and Absinthe from Crate and Barrel (sari-inspired brocade on raw silk)
5. Lambert Pillow in Peacock from Crate and Barrel
6. Clairemont Side Table from Crate and Barrel (antiqued bronze-finished forged metal and glass)
7. Antwerp Chair from Anthropologie
8. Villaine large floor mirror from Ballard Designs
9. Dupioni Silk Tie-Top Drapes in Lemongrass from Pottery Barn
10. the Montego Extra-Wide Dresser in mahogany from Pottery Barn
11. Mid-century modern Saffron Yellow table lamp from Lamps Plus
12. lots of books like these from Waterstone's Hardbook Classics/Penguin Designer Classic with beautifully designed graphic covers from Coralie Bickford-Smith
13. Fluted Mercury Glass Candle Holders (Ballard Designs)
14. Limited Edition Framed Botanicals from Wysteria (real pressed plants from an antique French collection)
Thanks for hosting, Tracy! Can't wait to head on over to the party and see what everyone else has done with these chairs:)
Hope everyone has a great start to the week!
It is beautiful! Love that chair with the Audrey bedding from Pottery Barn - organic too!

Very pretty, Sarah! Love the mix of colors and patterns and the bold but still warm blue you chose for the walls. And then there are those books that have been on my own wish list for so long... lucky girl, your client!
ReplyDeleteLove it! I really like how you mixed in the prints from Wisteria and that bed is gorgeous! Your mood boards are always so great :-)
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! Everything works so well together. I can tell you put a lot of thought into this.
ReplyDeleteI love this room! Eclectic and fun, but still sophisticated - great job! And I can't resist that Antwerp chair, I had to use it in my mood board, too!

This is great, Sarah! I love how you brought a little bit of each color in the chair into the design.
ReplyDeleteAs always, I love your taste! Very fun choice to use for a bedroom and I really like how it turned out!

Great mood board, Sarah! I love the pairing of the PB duvet with the chair in particular. So a great mix of patterns.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I love the PB duvet, bed and side tables with the chair you chose. Great job! You're hired! ;)

So pretty! I love what you did with that it. That set from PB is one of my favorites!!!
ReplyDeleteVery fun! I love all these elements you added with the fun chair. I played along too with this same chair, it was too cute to pass up. You did great!
ReplyDeleteI particularly liked that you started out with color samples to define your palette - great idea. Then, the numbering of the elements made it really easy to find a particular thing.
ReplyDeleteThis was my first 'party' and I had fun putting my board together then looking through everyone else's ideas. Isn't it great how you can take one strong element and go so many different directions??
