Mood Board Monday: Holiday Version

Hi! Welcome to the 3rd Mood Board Monday!!! So glad you could join us. The first ever Mood Board Monday was the work of the wonderful Pk over at Room Remix...check out that party here. Then Tracy from Comfort and Luxury hosted the second party...check it out here.

Now we are back for the 3rd installment...and its holiday time!! This week's challenge was to design a room of your choice around one (or more) of these holiday throw pillows:

{Hand-Painted Snowman Linen Pillow Cover from Pottery Barn}

{PEACE Holiday Hemp Pillow from NestaHome's shop on etsy.com}

{Tidings Pillow from Crate and Barrel}

{Present Pillow by Olive's shop on etsy.com}

Here's my Mood Board for the week. I was inspired by the PB Snowman Linen pillow cover as well as NestaHome's PEACE hemp pillow (I love anything with text!). They're graphic style and rustic textures inspired me to design a family room that's soft and airy with pops of dark and fun pattern. It's a comfortable and cozy room with hints of elegance and sophistication. I'd use a ton of natural greenery...nature is one of my biggest inspirations no matter what season it is:)

1. The palette: light, airy and neutral with dark pops of black/brown. Paint color something soft and taupey like Benjamin Moore Edgecomb Gray.
2. Bayside Sofa from Crate and Barrel in Snow (fitting, huh?)
3. Hand-Painted Snowman Linen Pillow Cover from Pottery Barn
4. PEACE Hand-Stamped Pillow by NestaHome on etsy (hand-stamped using antique text printing blocks)
5. The infamous Brickmaker's Table from Restoration Hardware
6. Rustic Wood Accent Tables from Pottery Barn
7.
Nautical Stripe Rug from William Sonama in black
8. I'd use tons of natural greenery, garlands, wreaths all around. Maybe even pick it from my backyard, since this room is in a fabulous farmhouse somewhere in the country:)
9. Wire Christmas Village from Ballard Designs
10. I'd also wrap gifts and use them as decor with paper like the Moss Winter Berries and Moss Flourish from Paper Source.
11.
Sterling Forest Wall Art from West Elm
12. Chloe Lantern from Pottery Barn
13. Must have tons of mercury glass accents like these Hurricanes and Demijohns from Ballard Designs.

Now its your turn! Here's what you do to join the party:

1. Create a mood board using one of the above inspiration pillows.
2. Write a post about it, including sources (with a link back to this post so others can come look).
3. Add your name and project to the MckLinky here on this post (for example - Sarah's Rustic/ Elegant Family Room).
4. Then add the link to your SPECIFIC MBM POST, not your general blog address.
5. Have fun checking out all the other wonderful rooms.

Thanks so much for joining the party!!!

  2. I had fun with this one too. Since the starting point was a pillow, the room design was SO wide open; I had a hard time settling on anything....til I found the perfect chair to go with the pillow. Thanks for hosting.
