chocolate + sage

It's been a while since I posted a wedding paper project, so I thought I would share this one with you guys. I love brown and green together, any shades of either. (Seriously, who doesn't love green?) Maybe its because they are both so dominant in nature, and I love all stuff organic and natural. This palette is versatile enough to work for any of the four seasons, even though we used it this time for a summer wedding.

Here's an invitation set I did for Natalie and Dave who got married this June on Cape Cod. They both wanted something fun with a causal feel, something that would let the guests know they were in for a summer evening party right on the beach. We used cute little silhouette graphics like a heart, star and tent to keep things light and playful. I drew a map of the Cape for the front of the enclosure to highlight the special location.

I'm trying to mess around a bit with "product shots" to find a style I like that works for my stuff. (And I only have a point and shoot camera, so...) I'm curious, do any of you out there own your own businesses? Are you trying to start one? Where are my entrepreneurs at?! Would love to talk more about all this kind of stuff. I know some of you have etsy shops. Any tips on product shots?

Here is some inspiration found along the way in brown and green. I don't think you can go wrong with this combo for an event or an interior:)

  1. Hi Sara:
I love your ideas! Do you focus only on wedding invites or do you do christmas cards as well?

  7. the invites are great!

I like your shots, but if you want something different, try depth of field and also unsuspecting areas to shoot, rather than the norm! Hope that helps.
