The Next Mood Board Monday: Seating that Speaks to You
Hello! How is everyone? So sorry it took me this long to get the next Mood Board Monday going!
How's Monday, June 4th for the actual linky party? (I know it seems far away...but I didn't want to hold it on Memorial Day, so this will be the week after.)
Let's take things back to the basics this time and use furniture as our inspiration item. The last time we featured upholstery goes all the way back to the second Mood Board Monday party (in November of 2009) when Tracy of Comfort & Luxury hosted. (The original concept of MBM wasn't mine and I didn't take over hosting it until the third party, two and a half years ago...so glad I got the honor!) Chairs can be a statement piece in a room or they can "sit" back and provide "support" for other decor elements in a space (sorry, was that too cheesy?!).
Remember, Mood Board Monday is all
about seeing how different people are inspired differently by the same
things. There's no budget, no real client (unless you want to really
challenge yourself), no limits. Just you, your imagination and the interwebz:)
So, if you choose to accept/can fit it into your already packed schedule, your challenge is to design a room around one of these beautiful Horchow chairs:
{Handcrafted of European beech wood and soft leather, this striking chair is as comfortable as it is beautiful.}
No. 2: "Cecilia" Chair
{A bold blue and white pattern ensures this chair will stand out no matter where it's placed. Handcrafted wood frame with cotton/rayon-blend upholstery.} |
{We've got your number! Cottage-chic dining chairs with striped seats are labeled with your choice of numbers 1-9.} |
Are you feeling inspired yet?! Isn't that green leather a gorgeous color? Now, I know that last one is a dining chair...but you guys are creative! Accent chairs can go anywhere, right?!
For anyone unfamiliar with the concept of the Mood Board Monday
McLinky party, here's the general idea (we would love to see some new
faces and hopefully lots of you back from previous parties):
1.
This is a fun way to share all of the creativity out there and
showcase how we can all start from one inspiration point and end up
with a variety of ideas.
2. To
be a participant, you need to create a complete mood board for any
room using one of the three chairs shown here.
3.
On Mood Board Monday party day (Monday, June 4th in this case),
come back here to link up to the party. You will need to include your
sources in your post and give a brief description of the room and
how you used the inspiration piece.
Thanks again, guys, for carving out precious time to work on these, come to the party, and make the rounds commenting on everyone else's rooms. This awesome sense of community and wonderful show of creativity are the best parts of blogging:)
You got this up quicker than I thought - I just let out a big "YAY" as my husband is watching the Flyers game. I told him that you posted the next MBM date and inspiration. This is one of my favorite things Sarah and I love the idea of the chair - mmmm...now to choose one.
ReplyDeleteLOVE all the chairs! Seriously I am really doing this one, time got the best of me last time! I'm starting now!!!!
ReplyDeleteLoving the new blog design by the way!

ReplyDeleteAwesome. Hope I can make it to this one since I was bummed I missed the last one!
ReplyDeleteYippe! You know how I love me a MBM! Great picks to work with too....I can't decide which one to use.....

I was hoping you would choose a furniture piece for the next round! Love these options - it's going to a tricky one :) xx
